Golden Eagles Hockey Club
Dear Parents and Players:

I would like to take this opportunity to introduce Golden Eagles Field Hockey Club. This will be our first tour with a field hockey team, but far from our first trip.  Our organization has  been in business for many years, and have literally taken 2300  players, parents, and guests to Europe on our sports adventures.  This is the 30th year of  our organization,  each one more exciting and fulfilling.

This year we will travel to South  Central  Europe  to explore the boundless beauty,  culture, & tradition  that Europe has to offer!  We will travel by air, by coach bus, by boat, & by Bullet Train!  That does not even include the day on water in the marvelous city of Venice!  This year our trip  will start by flying out of Logan Airport via Aer Lingus to Dublin, Ireland.  We then change planes and fly to Zurich, Switzerland.  Next we go on a boat ride down lovely Lake Geneva to pick up our Coach Buses and proceed to the quaint Swiss town of Rapperswill. While there, we will play one field hockey game.   Then we proceed to Lake Garda, Italy for 3 nights, and two field hockey games, and marvelous sightseeing.  Don't forget that this area advertises "The World's Best Pizza".  By the way, we have been here before, and we wholeheartedly agree!   Then, we will take a “European Bullet Train” through the mountains, with breathtaking scenery en route  to  romantic Venice, for a full day of sightseeing. We will have a boat ride to the central district of Piazza San Marco, and have a fun walking tour of Riva degli Schiavoni.  The last leg of our Italian trip will include a visit to Verona, made famous by Romeo & Juliet. Then on to the glorious French Alps, and Chamonix, where we play our fourth field hockey game.  We spend two nights in this quiet former Olympic Village, spending a day skiing the Alps, and riding in the world's highest elevated cable car to the summit of Mt. Blanc.  The next morning we travel to the airport in Zurich, for a flight to Dublin.  We will enjoy an Irish ethnic show/dinner with Irish folk songs, dancing, and other shenanigans!  Maybe we get to see a leprechaun, or two.  The following morning we will take a short coach bus tour of Dublin, with a walking tour of "Old Dublin". Perhaps, we can schedule a game in Dublin that morning.  We will try!

Our group will tour the Alps by bus, and we will take a cable car ride to MT. Blanc, the highest  elevated cable car ride in the world.  We will spend three days at Lake Garda, where we promise the weather to be warm, and the sightseeing to be marvelous, and  where the locals  proudly boast,  “The World’s Best Pizza”.  (we agree!)  Our European  Odyssey includes a full day in Venice, the city on water, and a trip to Verona. Maybe we will bump into Romeo & Juliet!  With a chance to do an "Irish Jig" in Dublin, don't you agree, that,  all in all, this is a  wonderful family adventure & vacation. Think pictures, and fond memories.

Please consider this an INVITATION to our program. Let us know if you have any interest, send us your e-mail, and we will invite you to our first meeting to explain all the details of this trip;  the cost, field hockey games, cultural awareness, and the adventure. This is, of course, a no-obligation, informational meeting. Each team will carry no more than 18 field players      and two goalies, so there is plenty of (equal playing time) for everyone. Only goalies will be evaluated to determine if an invitation would be extended!  Goalies must be approved by Ms. Kenney. All other roster spots may be acquired with just your consent.

We offer a six point fundraising program and depending on your effort, you may be able to go FREE,  raising even your spending money.  Without tryouts, or politics, & given that you CAN raise most, or all, of the trip fee, don’t you owe it to yourself to consider this adventure?

In the words of B.U. Coach Jack Parker, “It is insufficient of young Americans today to play only against North American players. Europeans play at all levels and their game is different; exposure to European hockey is a wonderful opportunity.  Developing your hockey resume is very important for college bound players, and this exposure may make a difference in the awarding of scholarships."
